Hey all! I’m back with my first ekphrastic poem, titled “Road to Tranquility”. Enjoy!
A narrow road leading
To a sea tranquil,
At the heart of which,
A lump floating still.
A narrow road leading
To a realm tranquil,
Where mortals find themselves
Purged of troubles.
A colorful mass floating,
On a humongous sea,
Amidst stretches of blue,
A touch of greenery.
A narrow road leading
To a realm tranquil,
The harmony reflected
In the vibrant blue spilled..
A narrow road leading
To a realm tranquil,
Whose sheer beauty
Shall ne’er be killed.
A colorful mass floating
On a humongous sea,
Final touch to a painting,
That bolsters its beauty.

P.S: This has been penned for DVerse, where poets were asked to draft Ekphrastic poems based on the paintings of Fay Collins, who had recently passed away from cancer. You can access the prompt at

Ekphrastic poem:
An ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or, more commonly, a work of art. Through the imaginative act of narrating and reflecting on the “action” of a painting or sculpture, the poet may amplify and expand its meaning.

I really like your use of repetition here – it gives it a incantatory quality.
