Dying Flame

Hey all! I’m back with my next haibun. Enjoy!

A couple months ago, even while studying for my board exams, I was dishing out poetry like paper planes. It felt so easy writing verses back then, for the muse was present, and the lines just came flowing out like water from a bottle,I made no effort to resist it. But at present,I find it difficult to pen two haikus in an hour! Something is really wrong.
Burdened by mountainloads of homework set by teachers who simply have nothing else on their minds other than the rush to complete the portions, and repeatedly told by my parents to focus more on studies rather than blogging,I have finally stopped penning poetry in that cheerful manner with which I used to. Rather,I force myself to do so,searching in desperation for words, hunting the right rhymes, ending up exasperated at my inability to conjure the magic I used to. I am,in essence, burnt out.
Hopefully, something, something will get me back on track. I’ll be awaiting that eagerly… 😉

Flames gasping for breath
Amidst airless atmosphere,
Suffocate,in time.

    1. ❤ Oh no, I was just worried that the boards would arrive in march itself, but it been delayed by 1 1/2 months,so there's nothing to worry about! But yeah, you are right, if it should be a choice between studies and blogging,I'd definitely choose studies! ❤

I feel for the poor flame suffocating under all that schoolwork and obligation! I hope you can finish your studies and get back to your writing soon.
