Winter follows Summer

I’m back with my next set of katautas. Enjoy!

Blistering heatwaves
Follow frosty, cold blizzards,
As summer succeeds winter.

Frozen tears of trees
With’ring ‘midst wintry weather
Now race ‘midst merciless heat.

Tongues thirsty for warmth
Now desire chilly caress
Of December’s icy air.

Souls seeking respite
From winter’s glacial grasp
Suffer under summer’s spell.

P.S: This has been penned for #TankaTuesday (its an extremely late submission, sorry!). You can access the prompt at http://wordcraftpoetry.com/2022/03/22/tankatuesday-weekly-poetry-challenge-no-266-3-22-22-themeprompt/ .

P.P.S: I haven’t been posting as often as I used to, and I don’t think I will post regularly for the next couple of months or so, as my boards are just around the corner and preboards are going on. So well, an apology in advance for those expecting regular posts from me!
