The Seasons Yesteryear

My next quadrille:

Spring culminated sullen,
Summer’s dawned scorching..
Autumn’s awaiting woodsy,
While winter’ll follow freezing..

I remember but yesteryear
I found spring sprightly,
Summer delightfully warm,
And winter pleasantly chilly..

I wonder if I’ll witness
The seasons once more,
Relieved of present harshness,
Their beauty restored.

This is an ode to global warming, which has had drastic effects on the climate of the planet. Scorching, freezing… the seasons are becoming more extreme than ever! This must stop…

This has been penned for DVerse, where poets were asked to pen quadrilles including some form of the word “season”. You can access the prompt at https://dversepoets.com/2022/04/04/dverse-monday-quadrille-149-tis-the-season/
