Does it Ring a Bell?

My next quadrille:

Do they ring a bell,
The battles that were,
Bloody clashes between countries,
That delivered unimaginable despair?

Do they ring a bell,
The conflicts that are,
Terrible tensions that preserve
The uncertainity of war?

The price of peace-
Never once free-
Is enormous indeed.

  1. We’ve had enough of war bells – it’s the peace bell that we’re waiting for. The alliterative sounds are so effective in the line ‘Bloody clashes between countries’ and the phrase ‘terrible tensions’. Thanks for joining us for this week’s quadrille.
