Hey all! I’m back with my next quadrille, titled “Crown”. Enjoy!
A king shan’t earn
A golden crown,
If himself,
A clown.
A king needs courage,
Bravery, will, wisdom,
To rule
His kingdom.
We are the kings
Of our lives,
Our kingdoms
Shall survive,
If only we assimilate
That we need
These qualities
To succeed.

P.S: This has been penned for DVerse, where poets were asked to write a quadrille in which the word “Crown” should be included in any form. You can access the prompt at https://dversepoets.com/2021/11/29/quadrille-141-heady-is-the-poem-that-wears-the-crown/

..if only….yes, lovely ideas and ideals in this well-penned quadrille…

The problem with ‘king’ imagery is that it’s a hereditary title. Dumb, cruel king, dumb, cruel son, and so on until the revolution π I like your idea of the possibility of transcending the role, and only keeping leadership for those who show human qualities.

Yep, that’s exactly what everyone must follow! You are not your father, and you shouldn’t let him define you, create an identity of your own! Thank you π

Yes, exactly. A ruler shouldn’t be a ruler by birth, but by ability.

Once upon a time, a common value system was something we pridefully had. Hope we can wake up. π
