Hey all! I’m back with my next set of tankas, titled “The Night Sky”. Enjoy!
I suspect a wink
From stars radiating light,
I suspect a smile
From the bright,shimmering moon,
As I admire the night sky.
I suspect a glare
From a travelling comet,
I suspect a snarl
From a raging asteroid,
As I admire the night sky.
I suspect a stare
From an observing Venus,
I suspect I glanced
A distant constellation
As I admire the night sky.

P.S: This has been penned for #TankaTuesday, where poets were asked to pen tankas of any topic. You can access the prompt at https://wordcraftpoetry.com/2021/11/30/tankatuesday-poetry-challenge-no-254-specificform/
Tanka:
Tanka is a classic form of Japanese poetry related to the haiku with five unrhymed lines of five, seven, five, seven, and seven syllables. (5, 7, 5, 7, 7).

Yes, I typed Veera, and the darn autocorrect gremlins changed it! π³π

Autocorrects are really exasperating…
