Hey all! I’m back with my next ekphrastic poem,in the form of a sonnet. Enjoy!
When the moon is full and stars grace the night,
Comes Cyrnomia warbling verses sweet,
The songs she so effortlessly indites,
Of unreal beauty, the still they greet.
When the moon is full and stars grace the night,
Comes Cyrnomia hanging clothes vibrant,
Wet with prophecy, they reveal when dry
Fortunes foul and fitting,ever migrant*.
When the moon is full and stars grace the night,
Comes Cyrnomia, as quietude falls,
Music mesmerizes minds,conq’ring spite,
As peace and happiness beleaguere all.
While young is the night and rife, the music,
Unravels a simple woman’s magic.

*Ever changing
This has been penned for DVerse, where poets were asked to pen ekphrastic poems. I chose the above picture to pen this poem, and well,I might have made a few changes to it(mainly, the fact that I didn’t portray this in daytime 😅). You can access the prompt at https://dversepoets.com/2022/03/01/poetics-march-wind-ekphrastic/ .

An interesting take on the prompt! Daydreaming could become fortune telling and magic.

❤ I think I might include a line in the end saying that this was all in the head of me daydreaming in class! 😉 ❤

I am stunned at how yoj manage to write such a literary sonnet jn such classical style, I mean look at that last stanza, for example…just stunning! While young is the night and rife, the music,
Unravels a simple woman’s magic.

A great sonnet. I love the clothes on the line:
Wet with prophecy, they reveal when dry
Fortunes foul and fitting, ever migrant*.
