It’s been a busy two weeks for sure! 11th grade has begun(already??) and work has been piling up on the double. I seriously don’t think I’ll be writing poems a lot for the next two years, but I’ll take my chances! That being said, here’s my next piece of poetry:
My next set of alouettes:
Memories unfold
As stories long told
Mom recounts,remembering
Her loving mother,
My fond grandmother,
An ageing,elderly being.
I do not recall
E’er being enthralled
When dragged along,to visit
My fond grandmother
Whom I remember
From mother’s fond narratives.
Yet,as she lies still
Old,battered and ill,
I feel a sense of closeness
To one I recall-
A stranger total-
From echoes* ringing endless.
-The Forgers of Fantasy
P.S: There’s a surprise coming 😉

Nice ending.

Such a beautiful remembrance of your grandmother..Family continuity is very fascinating for me….where we come from, from, whom we come from helps to shape who we are.I love thinking about that 🙂
